JD - Senior Software Engineer

1. Codebase stewardship: Manage and evolve the github repositories (backend services, code review standards, branch/release strategy, technical debt roadmap).
2. Release & deployment management: Own the full release cycle: versioning, QA gates, changelogs, and production deployment. You decide when we ship and you stand behind it.
3. On-premise delivery: Build and maintain installer packages for customer on-premise environments; plan and execute on-site deployments, including direct coordination with customer IT staff on scheduling, prerequisites, and troubleshooting.
4. AI-Driven CyrenCare roadmap: Take our high-level vision and turn it into a concrete, phased technical roadmap: architecture decisions, model/vendor evaluation, data pipeline design, and a realistic delivery schedule you personally commit to.
5. Stakeholder communication: Proactively report status to leadership and customers, surface risks before they become delays, translate technical decisions into business language, and run your own meetings.

1. 6+ years of backend development experience (or equivalent demonstrated seniority).
2. production ownership of at least one system end-to-end.
3. Proven experience with release/deployment management (CI/CD, versioning, rollback strategy).
4. Experience with on-premise or customer-environment deployments (installers, environment constraints, offline/air-gapped considerations a plus).
5. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional communication: we will test this directly in the interview process (see below).
6. Track record of driving projects to completion with minimal supervision: you set your own schedule, communicate it, and hit it.
7. Fluent written and spoken English and Korean.

1. Degree from a U.S. university and/or professional experience in a U.S. work culture (direct communication, written-first, ownership-driven).
2. Experience building or integrating LLM/AI features into a production product.
3. Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or other environments with strict data/compliance constraints.
4. Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead.

Our process is designed to test communication and ownership as rigorously as coding:

1. Technical deep-dive: Walk us through a system you owned; we’ll probe architecture and deployment decisions.
2. Written communication task (async, 24h): Respond to a realistic customer/stakeholder scenario in writing.
3. Live stakeholder simulation: A roleplay with a non-technical executive and a frustrated customer. We evaluate clarity, risk communication, and follow-through planning.
4. Roadmap session: Present a 90-day plan for a defined problem, then defend it underchanging constraints.
